World Alert: Sweden drops rape investigation of WikiLeaks founder Assange, who has been in an Ecuadoran embassy in Britain since 2012

Sweden’s top prosecutor said she is dropping an investigation into a rape accusation against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange after almost seven years. Assange, who took refuge in Ecuador’s embassy in London to avoid extradition to Sweden, is still wanted in Britain for jumping bail. It isn’t clear if Britain will drop its charges now that the Swedish investigation has ended.
