D.C.-area forecast: Nice today and tomorrow, clouds and showers return late week
(Joseph Gruber) Frost advisory until 9 a.m. for western suburbs TODAY’S DAILY DIGIT
A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10. 9/10: Crisp beginning but daytime weather is winning! EXPRESS FORECAST Today: Sunny, comfortable. Highs: 65-69.
Tonight: Few clouds, cool. Lows: 40-50.
Tomorrow: Mostly sunny, comfortable. Highs: 67-72. View the current weather conditions at The Washington Post headquarters. FORECAST IN DETAIL When you step outside and feel the cool air, remind yourself that we are less than one month away from June. The cool pattern wanes today and tomorrow thanks to plenty of help from May sunshine. A series of disturbances moves in starting Thursday with clouds and rain.
Today (Tuesday): Chilly early-morning conditions warm up quickly with sunshine and low humidity today. Sunny skies should also dominate the afternoon as temperatures work into the middle to upper 60s for highs. Light breezes blow from the northwest under 10 mph. Confidence: High

Tonight: Just a few clouds. Cool conditions are not as strong as recent nights with lows  near 40 in the outer suburbs to near 50 in the city. Light and variable breezes. Confidence: High Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for the latest updates. For related traffic news, check out Dr. Gridlock. Keep reading for the forecast through the weekend… Tomorrow (Wednesday): Mostly sunny, spectacular weather as temperatures warm faster during the day and reach a peak of about 70 degrees in most areas.  Light breezes blow mainly from the northwest.  Humidity levels inch up a notch from Tuesday, but are still relatively low.  Confidence: High Tomorrow night: Increasing clouds and not as cool with lows in the upper 40s to middle 50s.  Confidence: Medium A LOOK AHEAD Thursday and Friday feature mostly cloudy skies with showers at times or even periods of rain as a front stalls to our south with low pressure segments riding along it. Timing of the impulses and precipitation periods are still tricky, but the end of the week definitely looks cloudier.  Highs only make the 60s both days, with lows Thursday and Friday nights (with more showers/clouds) in the upper 40s to 50s. Confidence:  Low-Medium The weekend, unfortunately, is still affected by this stalled frontal boundary, so we should expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with showers or rain periods.  We have a chance to clear out a bit by Sunday afternoon for a slightly warmer day, but otherwise highs should be in the 60s both days with lows Saturday night (with more clouds and showers) in the upper 40s to 50s.  Confidence:  Low-medium
