D.C.-area forecast: Drier today and brighter tomorrow, a bit warmer toward midweek
TODAY’S DAILY DIGIT
A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10. 7/10: Drier and possibly a bit brighter is a decent way to close out the weekend, even if we’re still on the cool side. EXPRESS FORECAST Today: Partly to mostly cloudy, isolated shower? Highs: Near 60 to mid-60s.
Tonight: Clearing and cool. Lows: Upper 30s to mid-40s.
Tomorrow: Mostly to partly sunny. Highs: Near 60 to mid-60s. View the current weather conditions at The Washington Post headquarters. FORECAST IN DETAIL We’re slowly working our way out of the damp and dreary, but it’ll take one more day to totally break free. After some brighter breaks today, the sun should return in earnest tomorrow, although a pesky breeze persists. We’ll stay on the cool side through tomorrow as well, but by midweek we might flirt with 70 again. Today (Sunday): It’s a drier day than yesterday, though an isolated shower or two is still possible. And while clouds on the whole should win the day, don’t be surprised by a few sunnier, or at least brighter periods from time to time. That should help highs to near 60 to the mid-60s. We’ll still have that pesky breeze from the west, around 10-20 mph. Confidence: Medium-High Tonight: Skies trend clearer later in the evening and overnight, which allows temperatures to fall steadily through the 50s and into the 40s. There should be enough of a breeze from the northwest, around 5-10 mph, to keep them from really plummeting. But still look for lows down to the upper 30s to mid-40s. Confidence: Medium-High

Keep reading for the forecast through midweek… Tomorrow (Monday): Mostly sunny morning skies should lift our spirits to start the work week as high pressure builds in. Highs are still on the cool side, near 60 to the mid-60s, and skies may turn partly cloudy during the afternoon. Winds remain noticeable from the west, around 10-15 mph. Confidence: Medium-High Clouds dominate over D.C. Friday night. (Jim Havard via Flickr) Tomorrow night: Clear and cool conditions continue , and with calm winds we’ll have to watch for frost in our outer suburbs. Closer in though, our gardens should be just fine, as lows should stay in the upper 30s to mid-40s. Confidence: Medium-High A LOOK AHEAD Tuesday and Wednesday trend a touch warmer, and with partly sunny skies and less of a breeze, both days could turn out fairly nice! Highs should reach the mid-60s to near 70, with a stalled front to our south only sending a slight chance of a shower our way. Tuesday night lows are milder as well, mainly in the 40s. Confidence: Medium
